(Just in case you missed the reference...remember the old song that went, Saturday - In the park - I think it was the fourth of July...)
Anyway...
I spent my morning in front of the stereo in my living room belting out a few and trying out my new karaoke CD. It's got Don't Wanna Miss A Thing on it and a couple others that I kinda know, but none of the songs that are what I call my "regulars". I'll not bore you with that list right now, but there's about 9 or 10 songs that I sing all the time. Some Fleetwood Mac, some Journey, some Bon Jovi and a few strays here and there.
In that vein, though, I just made a purchase. I ordered two karaoke CDs - one that has Journey hits and one that has Fleetwood Mac hits. I bought the one I mentioned above (with the Aerosmith song on it) last night just to see if I could even sing with a karaoke CD. If I could, then I would order the ones with the songs I really know on it. Well...I guess the results are obvious, since I just ordered those other two CDs.
Anyway, my voice is scratchy from entirely too much singing. The only thing I didn't get but really wanted to find was a version of "She Talks to Angels" by the Black Crows. That's one of my "regular" songs. And unless I want a CD full of karaoke songs that I've never heard of, there'll be no "angel-talking". Ahh well, as I've said so oft before, ya can't have it all.
But, there ya go. I now have a chance (eight days hence) to practice up without the lead vocals. I hear that I'm expected to sing at this year's ELC, so better sing with music than without. Wish me luck!
